River Porter is a black illustrator currently based in Detroit, Michigan. Since graduating from College For Creative Studies with a bachelors degree in Illustration, he has been working independently to create his own manga series: Resonance.

Manga and comics have been my passion for longer than I can remember. Growing up, fictional characters became my best friends, and I connected most with people created with pen and ink. I soon realized that I too could create those stories; those characters that could touch people’s hearts the way they touched mine.

To that end, I have spent the last five years creating Resonance. Using digital tools such as Clip Studio Paint, Adobe Photoshop, Procreate, and more, I’m working to make my dream into something real.
